With heartfelt gratitude for Christian Science, I should like to relate a healing of a broken jaw which I experienced over three years ago.

While I was hanging some curtains in my kitchen, the ladder which I was using collapsed and I fell, striking my jaw on the corner of the sink. The force of the blow knocked my teeth loose on the left side, cracking one of them in half, and broke my jaw on that side. My husband, who came to my assistance, said he distinctly heard the bone snap back into place, and I felt it do so.

For several days I had difficulty in opening my mouth. My neck and jaw were swollen to alarming proportions and were greatly discolored. On the fourth day strangulation set in. We then called a Christian Science practitioner, who had helped us through many testing times. She worked for me, but as she was to leave the city that night, she felt that I must have a practitioner who could come to the house. My family was alarmed, as I seemed to be in a serious condition, and so another practitioner was called. Never shall I forget the hour spent with this loving, patient, and understanding woman. Upon her arrival I could not talk and could hardly swallow. After some quiet, illuminating explanations, a treatment was given. I fell asleep and slept about ten minutes and then awoke refreshed, although I had had very little sleep for several days. The healing was accomplished in one visit, and I was thereafter able to carry on my church and home duties.
