Desirous of giving grateful recognition of the many...

Desirous of giving grateful recognition of the many blessings and healings I have received through Christian Science, I send this testimony with the hope that somebody in like circumstances may be benefited and encouraged. Fourteen years ago I had not heard anything about Christian Science and had become a wanderer in the wilderness, as the church to which I had belonged all my life ceased to meet my need. A loved one had become interested in Christian Science, and several times she asked me to attend the services with her, but I always found an excuse and said that sometime I would go. Late one Saturday evening she sent me a note asking me to meet her at the church gates ten minutes before the beginning of the service. Being unable to reply, I went. I was greatly attracted by the peaceful atmosphere, the happy expressions on the people's faces, and the music, but was extremely critical about the rest of the service. I attended three other times during the next four months.

For four years previous to this time I had been suffering from a severe form of blood poisoning which manifested itself in boils and gathering of a finger for a period of six months without intermittence, eczema, both dry and weeping, loss of hair, and general depression. On my last visit to the doctor he told me that he had done all for me that was possible; that he had been in consultation with specialists and I was nothing bettered. I was condemned to a life of invalidism, and I was full of despair. The doctor was much agitated and finally asked, "Why not try Christian Science?" He added, "You know that cured your nephew." I knew nothing about Christian Science healing, but immediately sought out a practitioner. Loving help was given. My healing was slow, but now I rejoice that it taught me to hold steadfastly to the truth. I have since been healed of colds and coughs of which I was the victim every winter, of influenza, weak ankles, corns, and the need of wearing glasses. Is there any wonder that with the Psalmist I say, "My cup runneth over"?

For class instruction, membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, for the privilege of teaching in the Sunday school, and for all the activities in which I have been privileged to participate, I am deeply grateful.—(Miss) Sarah Ann Mills, Marple, Cheshire, England.
