More than eighteen years ago I was led to Christian Science by a friend who had been healed through the ministrations of this religion. I was deeply impressed by my friend's healing, and immediately I began attending Christian Science services with her. At that time I was suffering from the return of an internal trouble, for which I had previously undergone an operation to gain relief. The surgeon who performed the operation had told me that often in an operation such as this, where one thing was put right something else was disturbed, and that after this operation nothing more could be done for me.

This was my plight at that time, but my friend still assured me that Christian Science would heal me. I began studying the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and at the end of three months I was permanently healed. This healing brought my first glimpse of the healing Christ, and my heart went out in deep gratitude to God; but I had yet to learn the rules of divine Science to understand more fully how I was healed.

My understanding began to grow through the desire to help my husband, who had gotten into business difficulties. We were threatened with the loss of our home, and it became necessary to borrow two hundred pounds to meet immediate demands. Then I turned unreservedly to God for wisdom in applying the rules of Christian Science and for ideas to furnish the supply with which to meet our obligations.
