For the love and joy which I am privileged to have daily through the understanding of Christian Science I am very grateful. Christian Science surely teaches us to understand the true nature of God, and of man as God's image and likeness.

Through the spiritual uplifting which has come to me I have gained freedom from physical suffering. Fourteen years ago I caught cold and fell ill with grippe, and from that time I suffered from shortness of breath and also from stomach disorders. All the organs in my body were affected, so that I had to give up my work. The doctors whom I consulted and who had me under constant treatment then told me that they could no longer treat me, as there was no remedy and no help for this suffering. After that I turned to every remedy that was offered me, but it was of no use. My condition grew worse and worse, and my general weakness increased. My case was given up as hopeless, yet still I had the deep desire to be well and strong and to do the work I loved so much.

But "man's extremity is God's opportunity." Through good friends my attention was called to Christian Science, of which I had never before heard. I sought a practitioner and asked for treatment. She treated me for seven months but without success, although she was most conscientious. I lacked understanding; I could not grasp Christian Science, and therefore I asked to have the treatment stopped. I then delved into the Bible and the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and after five months of diligent study I sought another practitioner. Most gratefully I should like to testify to the fact that I was made completely free. I was healed, happy, newborn. Fear, doubt, depression disappeared. After a short period of treatment the light began to dawn for me and led me on towards the full radiance of day.
