I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science
I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science. Members of my family and I have had many healings through the application of this truth. I was healed of what my relatives believed to be an incurable and inherited disease—jealousy. I was so jealous of my husband that I made him very unhappy, and soon I developed a terrible physical condition. My husband spoke to my mother about my mistrust of him, and she said, "Oh, poor thing, she is just like her father, he was always so jealous." Then she added, "But since there is no physician nor tonic that can cure jealousy, I guess we shall just have to put up with it."
Then I took up the study of Christian Science. The first thing I learned was that man is God's image, reflection, and that I could not have any quality that was not mine by reflection of my real Father-Mother, God. In our textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, we read (p. 68): "Jealousy is the grave of affection. The presence of mistrust, where confidence is due, withers the flowers of Eden and scatters love's petals to decay." I began to see my husband as in reality a spiritual idea, and knew that since man is the image of God, good, I could trust man as I could trust God. When this became clear to me physical problem disappeared. Not only was I healed, but my husband began to study Christian Science. He dropped the social liquor habit, and finally stopped smoking. I am happy to say he is now a teacher in our Christian Science Sunday School, and that we are proving in our home the harmony of Mind eternal, in which nothing can enter "that defileth, ... or maketh a lie." I am grateful for the privilege of serving in the Sunday school and in other church activities, and for class instruction.—(Mrs.) Pansy E. Linville, Glencoe, Illinois.
I wish to verify the foregoing testimony of my wife. All our happiness, health, and supply we owe to the continued application of Christian Science to our human affairs. I am grateful for having proved that what "God hath joined together"—qualities of Love, Truth, Principle—error cannot "put asunder." I am profoundly grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for this demonstrable religion.
