God's Presence

What matter if the way be dark?
I know that God is everywhere;
I see the deepest, darkest night
Aflame with light, for Love is there.

To me no treasure is so great,
No wealth so rich, no love so dear,
As in the Father's arms I find
A refuge and a fortress near.

Thy perfect love sufficient is
To turn the darkness into day,
To move the mountain, still the storm,
Walk o'er the wave, and lead the way;

To turn our weeping into joy,
To cast out every doubt and fear,
Until we rest secure in Thee,
Reflecting God—for God is here.
