The Secret Place

The secret place, a lovely place!
In thought we see God face to face;
Here we may walk and talk with Him,
And find all worldly aims grow dim.

A sanctuary where He reigns
And sense drops off its woes and pains,
A quiet spot where, close to God,
We see the path our Master trod!
In humblest reverence we hear
The voice our hearts hold close and dear,
God's loving voice, the perfect One
Speaking to His beloved son.

In heartfelt adoration then
We strive to show our fellow men
The way to find this secret place,
So they may see God face to face.
