In gratitude to God and to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, I give this testimony.

Over twenty years ago I was badly injured in an accident; bones were broken and my knee joint shattered. I was placed in a cast and the knee joint grew solid. This seeming calamity proved to be the greatest blessing that ever came into my life, both for myself and for my family. At this time I was suffering from a severe case of gallstones and there was much doubt if I would recover. While I was in the hospital, waiting and praying for strength to go home to my family, the thought of Christian Science came to me. Years before, when a little girl, I had known a lady who had been healed of a broken limb through Christian Science. I decided the minute I got home to find out what it was and how to apply it.

My first healing was of the gallstones, also fear of electric storms. About a year later I could walk, but my knee remained stiff for eight years. Then a little boy who had not walked for some time, having had infantile paralysis, was at our home. I was filled with love and compassion for him, and tried to see him as God sees His children, happy, free, and active. The child was healed, and so was I at the same time. My knee bent instantly, without a single sensation, as if it had always been normal.
