A growing conviction that there is indeed no rest in the...
A growing conviction that there is indeed no rest in the multiplicity of physical activities incident to most so-called orthodox churches, led me to my first interest in Christian Science. Afterwards, so pleasant were the contacts, personal and spiritual, that both my wife and I became members of a branch church, and a little later of The Mother Church, steps for which we are increasingly grateful as the fruits of Science multiply in our lives.
Many healings came to me right from the start of my acquaintance with Science. Only a few weeks after I had opened for the first time Mary Baker Eddy's inspired book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," I returned from an errand with both ears frozen. Without panic or fear I took up our textbook and read for perhaps ten minutes, then went on with my usual activities, and my ears returned at once to their normal condition without swelling or peeling.
Some months later a long-standing case of constipation was again manifested, but I regarded it as an opportunity to prove the definite promises and assurances I had been reading. The healing came, and like all true Mind-healings, it endured. Cuts, burns, a hole through the palm of my hand from a ratchet drill, the bruises from a fall, have all been encountered without ill effect, healing quickly and without leaving scars. Chronic headaches have disappeared. And somewhere along the joy-lighted way I am losing a heavy load of headlong impatience, while my temper, disposition, and sharp tongue are mellowing in the sunshine of Truth and Love.
