The Negations of Christian Science

At the season of the year when highway construction and repairs are the order of the day, and we travel swiftly along the highways in motor vehicles, we often meet with a barrier at some turn in the road with a sign posted above it, reading, "Road Closed." The wise motorist will not try to pass this barrier, having probably learned by experience that to do so would cost him time and trouble.

These road signs remind the writer of what might be termed the negations of Christian Science and the important part they have in educating the student in the progressive demonstration of this Science.

In the enthusiasm attending his first healing, the neophyte may be so impressed with the sweeping affirmations of Christian Science as to overlook for a time the important part its negative declarations play in giving him a demonstrable knowledge of the truth.
