Teach Me to Give

Teach me, O God, to give of all I have
Unstintingly, and not to be concerned
Lest I deplete my infinite supply.
I need not to withhold to richer live,
I need but learn that God made man to give;

To give, by true reflection, all God is,
His boundlessness of life and truth and love.
And in that giving we shall find true wealth,
For heavenly good is only ours as we
Obedient givers of that good shall be.

And with the measure that you give it shall
Be meted you, 'tis said. Then freely may
I share the good I have, and thus be blessed
As I impart, to those who do not know,
The source whence good and joy eternal flow.
