It is a great joy to be able to express my gratitude for the gift of Christian Science and for the many blessings it has brought.

Our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, states in Science and Health (p. 167), "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." After I had fallen under the mesmerism of the so-called world depression, two opportunities to prove the truth of this statement presented themselves to me.

The belief in lack of business and supply appeared to be so acute that fear brought on a state of nervous breakdown. On this occasion I felt I could drive my car no farther, feeling it impossible to drive safely. I stopped the car and struggled into a post office to wire to a practitioner for help. The wire was written but not sent. The thought came that I already had the gift of Truth, and that persistent reliance on God was all that was necessary. When I arrived home fifteen minutes later, I was in a state of complete freedom.
