Christian Science is a religion based on the Bible

Christian Science is a religion based on the Bible. In fact, the first tenet of Christian Science as given on page 497 of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is as follows: "As adherents of Truth, we take the inspired word of the Bible as our sufficient guide to eternal Life." The Bible is the daily companion of the Christian Scientist, and being the basis of his religion, none of its passages could possibly offend him.

It is true that the Christian Scientist may not agree with another religionist's interpretation of certain passages in the Bible, for he has found Science and Health to be indeed a "Key" to the Scriptures, and it is supplying him with an interpretation that not only satisfies his reason, but also is demonstrably practical in the healing of sin, disease, and the other discordant conditions that seem so prevalent in human experience.

To the Christian Scientist, Christ Jesus is the great Way-shower. His life, teaching, and works, culminating in his victory over death and the grave, show mortals how to escape from sin, thus enabling each one to work out his salvation in accordance with the Scriptural command: "Work out your own salvation ... For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure."
