"The sinless joy"

The man of joy is God's man. Do not the Scriptures declare of God, "Thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created"? And, again, "I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy"?

In the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we find several definitions of spiritual man. These definitions, which illuminate and unfold man's true nature in Science, are spiritually consistent. Referring to the qualities of man, on page 76 of the textbook, our Leader says: "The sinless joy,—the perfect harmony and immortality of Life, possessing unlimited divine beauty and goodness without a single bodily pleasure or pain,—constitutes the only veritable, indestructible man, whose being is spiritual. This state of existence is scientific and intact."

Who would not be a man of joy? Is not joy the desire of every heart? But what a trembler is the joy of the so-called Adamic creation! Do not the false joys of material possessions, material accomplishments, and material sensation tremble because the senses are illusive, and because the man of flesh knows his possessions are uncertain, his senses illusive, and his time is short?
