It is with a deep sense of gratitude that I wish to add my voice to the steadily increasing paean of praise to God for Christian Science.
One Monday I found myself struggling with a strange sense of discomfort and lethargy. I rose and went to my work but found it necessary to return home later in the morning to rest. Each day I was able to go to my work for most of the time, although I returned to rest for a while. It was with great effort that I was able to attend to my duty as First Reader at church on Wednesday night. Friday I was unable to leave my bed. The practitioner was again consulted, and work was continued. Although I knew the healing was complete I was not strong enough the following day to drive the car, so my wife drove for me that day so that I might return to my sales work. One day the following week my work necessitated my calling at the office of an acquaintance who is a medical doctor, and when he saw me he pronounced the condition malaria. I was grateful in knowing that God is my Physician, and as the practitioner continued the work every appearance of evil disappeared. I was grateful that I lost only one day from work.
Some time ago, on a Monday, I became quite ill and seemed to go to pieces suddenly. My wife helped me to bed and wanted to telephone the practitioner, but as it was late I said that I would wrestle with the trouble myself. In the morning I was unable to rise, so the practitioner was called. On Friday it seemed necessary to keep a previously made appointment, after which I returned to bed again. The next day and through the early night I suffered pain and pressure with my head. Sunday morning I woke to find the pillow wet. The pressure had broken and the ear, which had become deaf, was draining. This continued for several days; but I was healed and was able to return to work the following Tuesday morning, after just seven days at home. Work was lovingly continued and the deafness was completely eliminated in about two weeks.
