During my earliest years I was considered a delicate child

During my earliest years I was considered a delicate child. Every winter I suffered from severe attacks of bronchitis, other throat difficulties, and all kinds of nervous disorders, which necessitated my being absent from school for several weeks. At times the attacks were such that the doctors informed my parents that I could never grow to womanhood. Although every material remedy was tried, I was seldom free from sickness. When my mother passed on, the separation seemed unberable; and Christian Science found me at a stage when I felt quite sure that life was not worth living, confronted as I was with sickness, loneliness, despondency, and sorrow.

A relative, a Christian Scientist, who lived in another country, thinking the change might help, lovingly invited me to her home for a few months. This invitation was accepted, and after a further struggle with sickness in various forms, I realized that Christian Science is the truth that heals.

From that time, when the earnest study of this great truth was taken up, the allness of God and the nothingness of error gradually became a positive fact to me. I found that all that rightfully belongs to God's child was being manifested increasingly in my daily experience.
