Christian Science has brought countless blessings to me,...
Christian Science has brought countless blessings to me, and I am more grateful each day that I was led to its study, and that I am able to prove that inharmony of any kind does not belong to God's child.
A proof of God's great and loving care for me came recently when I realized that I did not have to accept mass thinking and knew instead that "divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 494).
I was hunting for work, and had been told—in some places bluntly and in others more diplomatically—that I was too old. The repetition of this statement made me wonder why this should be. Then the understanding that fear, worry, and wonder (another name for fear) were unreal thoughts and would weaken me, led me to take a firmer stand for Truth. I knew that God needed me as much as I needed Him, for He can only be manifested through His ideas, and the fact that I expressed intelligence, capability, initiative, and all other divine attributes made a condition of inactivity or deterioration impossible. I knew there was a place for me and a demand for what I had to give, and here was an opportunity to prove that nothing could interfere with the manifestation of God's omnipotent law of harmony. God is made manifest through active and harmonies man, and He equips each idea with everything that makes for harmony. Then, as I had health, ability, strength, and the desire to express right activity, I could not see why, because I had passed the first half of the century, I should express stagnation and decadence. There was no law of God that decreed that.
