I shall mention some of the benefits that have come into my life since taking up the study of Christian Science. Prior to my study of its teachings I was afflicted at various times with felons, but through this Science, my fear was lessened and healing resulted. Since then I have not had a recurrence of this condition. Influenza was quickly healed through the help of a practitioner. I have witnessed great moral regeneration around me.
Financial difficulties have been straightened out. Mrs. Eddy says in Science and Health (Pref., p. xii) that "she commits these pages to honest seekers for Truth." For her great lifework in discovering this truth and presenting it to mankind, so that all may follow in some degree, I am profoundly grateful; also for the Journal and Sentinel, which have helped me so much; and for "the peace of God, which passeth all understanding." The study of the Gospels through the light that the teaching of Christian Science brings, shows that we can rejoice here and now to the extent that we are obedient, and thus be strengthened in the glorious warfare, of which Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 324), "It is a warfare with the flesh, in which we much conquer sin, sickness, and death, either here or hereafter,—certainly before we can reach the goal of Spirit, or life in God."—(Mrs.) Etta R. Evans, Wasco, Oregon.
