A Psalm of Life

My morning song shall praise my God
With joyous melody;
His goodness sings within my heart
In constant ecstasy.
Health, wealth, and boundless happiness
Are mine by His decree;
My opened eyes are beauty-filled—
His loveliness they see.

At busy noon my song shall ring
High over error's din;
The triumph-song of Truth that stills
The jangling notes of sin.
Courage, and strength, and victory
Are mine by His decree;
Clothed in the righteousness of Love,
No harm can come to me.

My evening song shall praise my God
In tones more clear, more bright;
With deepening faith proclaiming far—
At eventide 'tis light.
Eternal life, unending bliss
Are mine by His decree;
Safe in the dwelling-place of Life
No death can come to me.
