For some time I have felt it a duty to tell of the many blessings which I received, sometimes through my own work and ofttimes through the help of a Christian Science practitioner.
The untiring, ceaseless, loving work which the practitioners are doing for the sake of humanity and in obedience to God are an inspiration to me. My mother was an early student of Christian Science. When I was an infant she accepted its teachings, and this has been an untold blessing, as I have been protected from wandering in many bypaths.
I have witnessed many healings, those of birds and animals, as well as of people. I have been healed of influenza, nervous breakdown, grief, and many other troubles. I should like to relate a recent healing. A rusty nail, which I ran into one of my arms, penetrated to the bone. There was not much discomfort for a few days, then the arm began to swell and pain. I lost the use of my arm and my hand entirely. I could not lift the least weight, and for one week could not dress or undress myself. The pain seemed to extend from my fingers to my shoulder and down my side, but through the faithful perseverance and loving work of a Christian Science practitioner the pain ceased, new skin formed on the hand, and I was healed in three months.
