The Lectures
Introductions to Lectures
Copenhagen, Denmark (First Church).
Lecturer: Francis Lyster Jandron; introduced by Mrs. Christine Ludwigsen, who said:—
Mary Baker Eddy quotes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 266), " 'Man's extremity is God's opportunity.' " I came to Christian Science in my extremity. I had been sick and unhappy for many years, had never opened the Bible, and had no idea of the wonderful treasures it contains. Christian Science has given me health again and raised me up to a happy, active life, for which I am unspeakably grateful. It is my innermost conviction that all who come to Christian Science, and become earnest students, will get their healing, whether it is for physical, financial, or domestic troubles, if they acknowledge Mrs. Eddy as the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, and if they begin to understand what Jesus meant when he said, "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." We all have but a faint idea of what God is able and willing to do for us. We draw from an infinite source of goodness and love—the Love which always and to all eternity will supply man's every need.
