More than thirty-one years ago Christian Science came...
More than thirty-one years ago Christian Science came to my rescue, while I was suffering from a complication of kidney, stomach, and liver troubles, and extreme nervousness and sleeplessness. For several years I had been to doctors in this country and in Europe and was continuing to grow worse. Christian Science was recommended to me in March, 1905, and much to my surprise I was healed. I immediately bought the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and began reading and studying the book and have read little else in all these years.
A testimony of this healing was printed in The Christian Science Journal of July, 1907, and my increasing love and gratitude for Christian Science and for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, prompt me to repeat it with the hope that it may be helpful to someone of this generation who may see it and who may be looking for a way out of so-called disease. I have never had the slightest return of those troubles. Sicknesses that have come to my family—and we have had many in a family of five—have yielded to Christian Science treatment more or less quickly, and always permanently. We have looked to Christian Science for the solution of any and all problems that have come to us, always with the expectation that they would be completely met, and we have never been disappointed. It is not possible adequately to express my gratitude for the peace, love, harmony, and happiness which have come to us, and which we are constantly enjoying as a result of our daily study of the Christian Science periodicals and our Leader's works. She surely built on a solid foundation, and her works will not pass away.
I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church; for class instruction; for any service it has been my privilege to render our great Cause on occasions; and for our consecrated Board of Directors and all workers at headquarters.
