That distance is no deterrent to the healing power of...
That distance is no deterrent to the healing power of Christian Science was proved in my experience many years ago. While serving in the army, I was sent to a hospital with scarlet fever. I had a telegram sent to my home, which was over two thousand miles away, asking for help from a practitioner. Pain and fear were banished and the healing soon came.
I have been healed through my own efforts of the need of wearing glasses, after they had been worn constantly for over two years; also of an injured eye, which had been struck by a ball. An infected foot, constantly recurring colds and headaches, as well as many fears and worries, have been overcome by the truth as taught by Christ Jesus and revealed to mankind by Mrs. Eddy. Other healings in our family have been of trench mouth, children's diseases, and a weak, run-down condition. Truth has acted as a prophylactic or preventive of other diseases and injuries, and has brought about a wonderful sense of spiritual freedom and trust and reliance on the one God.
Christian Science has made life really worth living, and I am so grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for making practical to us this religion of Truth and Love, which we can use every day in our social and business life. I am grateful for Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; for the practitioners who give unstintedly of their time and efforts; for every Christian Science activity; for membership in The Mother Church; for class instruction; for the privilege of ushering in a branch church; and for the love of the Bible which has been awakened in me.
