About twenty years ago my testimony in regard to numerous healings, which had resulted from the study and application of Christian Science, appeared in the Christian Science Sentinel.

Throughout the following years there have been many proofs that Christian Science is "prophylactic and therapeutic" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 369). During this time it has been necessary for me to remain in bed but one day on account of sickness. I have no idea what materia medica would have called the ailment. I was awakened at two o'clock one morning, and seemed to be in great pain, and the thought that I was going to pass on was very insistent. My husband called a Christian Science practitioner. I was healed in one treatment, and the following day I was about my duties as usual. I know that through the study of Christian Science I have been protected against many beliefs of disease.

Before taking up the study of Christian Science, I was what is known as a semi-invalid, constantly under medical treatment and using all sorts of medicines. Twenty-three years ago I had one treatment from a Christian Science practitioner, and was completely healed of a condition which physicians had said would necessitate a major operation. On realizing my healing, I began the earnest study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" and Mrs. Eddy's other works. As a result of this study I have been protected from illness to a very great degree.
