Our beloved Master said, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind" (Matt. 22:37). In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (Pref., p. vii), we read, "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings." I have given much thought to these two passages, and have begun to realize that only as I love God, the divine, infinite Principle of being, as I look to Him, as I rely on His goodness and wisdom, am I truly "leaning on the sustaining infinite," and thus am I entitled to share in the bounteous and satisfying blessings which pour from the source of all good.
Christian Science has been my only stay for many years. It has sustained and comforted me in sorrow; it has healed my ills; it has brought the correct answer to many a perplexing and disturbing situation. I have been healed of scarlet fever, grippe, influenza, a sty, a poisoned hand and foot, and many other discordant conditions.
I should like particularly to tell of a healing that occurred a few years ago. I awakened about three o'clock one morning with the lower part of my body practically paralyzed. I was in great pain and in great fear, and felt so terribly ill that I could not help myself. A Christian Science practitioner was telephoned to at once, and help was given. As there was no relief, a second call was made about twenty minutes later, and I shall never forget the peace that came to my consciousness. I felt the comfort of God's presence. I fell asleep and knew nothing more until the morning, when I awoke entirely healed.
