Mastering Decisions
To be master of circumstances is a normal human desire. To come into the knowledge of how to be master of any human condition is a grand achievement. Mary Baker Eddy, the author of the textbook of Christian Science, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," says (p. 392), "Your decisions will master you, whichever direction they take." This has been proved to be the case so often that the statement may be accepted as a truism.
It follows that what the individual admits of the material theory of creation tends to rule his life. On the other hand, should he admit as a fact the absolutely spiritual basis of creation, this would determine not only his thinking but his actions as well. Why is this so? Because divine Mind, having all power and being everywhere present, can show forth itself whenever it is admitted into human thought. However, mortal mind, material so-called intelligence apart from God, claims ability and capacity to be and act and know, and to show forth itself whenever it is admitted to thought.
Then the important questions with everyone should be: Am I thinking on the side of materiality, mortal creation with its false claims, or on the side of Spirit and of spiritual creation and the ever-operating facts of being?
