Permit me to say in reply to the letter signed "C. L. A.," published in a recent issue of the Gleaner, that the fruits of Christian Science are its sufficient justification. The fact that the Christian Science movement has spread throughout the world and prospered in the face of the most bitter prejudice, envy, and misrepresentation is proof of the truth of its teachings.

Mary Baker Eddy ordained the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," to be read in the Christian Science churches, so that seekers for Truth might find in such sermons only pure Christian Science, unadulterated by any merely personal opinions of pastors.

From the time of her discovery of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy devoted her entire means and her life to the purpose of liberating humanity from bondage to sin, disease, and misery. In establishing the Christian Science movement she gave of her personal means until she was in dire straits. When the proceeds of her work finally materialized, they were utilized in establishing the Christian Science movement, so that the world at large might have the benefit of her discovery.
