Bulletin,

With reference to your library feature last week, I should like to say that the records of Edmonton Public Library are not a sufficient indication of the public interest in Christian Science and demand for its authorized and approved literature. The larger facilities and activities of the free lending library maintained by the Christian Science church at its Reading Room in the Canadian Bank of Commerce Building have to be considered.

The demand for the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is a good criterion, and this demand is continuous at the Christian Science Reading Room. Not only is borrowing quite active, but sales of this book, the standard and complete textbook of Christian Science, are showing an increase this year over sales for 1933. This indicates that borrowing and reading this book lead to the continuing desire to study and use its truths, which restate and reinstate the fundamentals of primitive Christianity with its Christly healing.

This continuing desire for the benefits of Christian Science is everywhere the same where the facilities of the Christian Science church are available, for its entire tendency everywhere is, to use an expressive phrase in Science and Health (p. 367), to "quicken and increase the beneficial effects of Christianity."
