I am very grateful for the fact that all my life I have...
I am very grateful for the fact that all my life I have known of the protecting and healing power of Christian Science. It has been a constant and powerful source of help physically, mentally, morally, and spiritually. It has healed me of many diseases, including blood poisoning; I have had two almost instantaneous healings of burns; and have seen many diseases healed in my family.
I should like to tell of a recent experience which proved the power of God to help us in all ways. For several months I had been trying to solve an engineering problem connected with my work, a problem involving higher mathematics than I had studied. At last I realized that it was beyond my abilities without further knowledge or help of some kind. I went to the public library and spent an afternoon there, enlisting the aid of the librarian. However, we found nothing that would throw any light whatever on my problem. On returning home I started studying the week's Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. In the midst of this study the answer to my problem appeared. It came just as clearly as if someone had written the necessary equations and diagrams on a blackboard before me. I finished the lesson, and then a few minutes' work with a pencil and paper brought me all that I had been seeking.
For all the blessings that I have mentioned; for peace, happiness, and relief from worry in the midst of difficulties; for membership in a branch church with its opportunities for service, I am deeply and sincerely grateful to Christian Science.—Frederick Carlyle Haenchen, Jr., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
