Out of the Depths

Out of the depths Christ hath called thee,
Called thee to light.
Be not afraid of sin's threatening,
Since in God's sight,
Sharing the life of His presence,
Fadeless and bright,
Thou shalt find grandeur and glory,
Meekness and might,
And infinite spiritual power,
Vanquishing night,
With blessings and pleasures supernal,
Pure, and right.
Out of the depths Christ hath called thee,
Cease from all wrong.
Cast off the rags of a sinner—
Can they belong
To man who is pure and holy,
Faithful and strong?
God is thy Father and Mother,
Gentle and kind.
Child, thou art ever beside Him,
There thou shalt find
Safety and sweet satisfaction,
Bliss unconfined.
