I should like to testify to the healing and regenerating power of Christian Science. In the words of the Psalmist, "He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder." This was fulfilled in a wonderful experience over death that came to me soon after I took up Christian Science.

I came into Christian Science through reading the textbook, while living in the home of a Christian Science practitioner during a summer's vacation from school. The positive conviction of Christian Science as the final revelation of Truth came to me, accompanied by a soft glow of spiritual illumination which remains a treasured memory. This awakening, after I had been reared in a strict orthodox family, brings to thought Mrs. Eddy's words in Science and Health (p. 98), "Beyond the frail premises of human beliefs, above the loosening grasp of creeds, the demonstration of Christian Mind-healing stands a revealed and practical Science."

Christian Science teachings were made practical in a number of healings, several of these due to the devoted work of practitioners. I was healed of chronic bronchitis, after doctors had declared that another attack would result in tuberculosis; of headaches, blood poisoning, and a very bad condition of the ears. Many healings and the prevention of illness and trouble are due to the study of the Christian Science textbook and our beloved Leader's other writings.
