In your issue of last evening there is a report headed "Spiritualism and Christianity," in which Christian Science is referred to in a way that might lead some of your readers to classify Christian Science with spiritualism. I shall be grateful, therefore, if you will allow me to point out that Christian Science teachings has no connection with that of spiritualism.

In the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mary Baker Eddy devotes a whole chapter, entitled "Christian Science versus Spiritualism," to a discussion of the subject. One quotation from this chapter (p. 79) will suffice: "Spiritualism relies upon human beliefs and hypotheses. Christian Science removes these beliefs and hypotheses through the higher understanding of God, for Christian Science, resting on divine Principle, not on material personalities, in its revelation of immortality, introduces the harmony of being."
