During the past quarter of a century I have received...

During the past quarter of a century I have received many blessings from the study of Christian Science. For these blessings I wish to express my gratitude. I should like to relate one experience in regard to supply, which might be helpful to others.

At one time, while paying for a home, my husband found himself unexpectedly out of work, and following this he had very little employment for two years. He was then offered a few days' work with small pay, auditing some books for a large fruit ranch. While he was away I devoted most of my time to the study of Christian Science. I found much help in an article in the Sentinel, which explained the quotation from the Bible, "Now is the accepted time." This gave me the assurance of the ever-presence of God's supply. I was also assured of God's infinite wisdom, far exceeding the wisdom of our own planning, and these words from the Bible came to my thought: "Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

When my husband came home, it was with gratitude and joy, for he had been appointed manager of the fruit ranch. This position paid him twice as much as he had ever had up to that time. In our planning we had thought only of a position as bookkeeper, but when we turned to divine Mind for guidance, this altogether different and more satisfactory place was made available.

One spring morning, as we looked over the ranch, we realized there was much work to be done, such as pruning, spraying, and irrigating. We knew that the same divine intelligence which had supplied the place would also furnish whatever was necessary to take care of it. Just then a man came up the road with a pruning hook on his shoulder and shears in his hands, ready to go to work. From that time there was never a shortage of laborers. Not only was our own supply met, but we were able to give employment to others, sometimes as many as seventy-five. The payments on our own home were soon completed.

We have always been grateful for this experience, which proved the truth of Mrs. Eddy's assuring statement on page 494 of Science and Health, "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." We have had a number of physical healings, such as of rheumatism, tonsillitis, influenza, and other ailments, for which I wish to express my deep gratitude. I am especially grateful for the help of practitioners in time of need, and also for class instruction.
