For more than fifteen years I was afflicted with a serious kidney trouble which the doctors could not relieve. My eyes were very weak, and I was on a strict diet because of a weak stomach. I also wore a rubber stocking on account of varicose veins. After my first visit to a Christian Science practitioner the stocking was removed, and the swollen, inflamed, and painful limb was soon healed. After about a week's treatment the kidney and stomach trouble disappeared and my eyes were better than they had been for years.
Several years after my first healing I had an acute attack of inflammation of the bladder. An important business trip to another part of the state had been planned, but it seemed impossible to go. A practitioner was called, and she said that, as it was my duty to go, I could do so without ill effects. Work was taken up and all pain and discordant conditions immediately disappeared; and the trip, which took several days, was most harmonious.
It is impossible to express my gratitude for all the many blessings which I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. I had never had any religion, and now the Bible and the Christian Science textbook are my daily companions. As I live in a small town in which there is no organization, I do not have the privilege of church services, but I study the Lesson-Sermons from the Christian Science Quarterly and keep in touch with The Mother Church and its many activities through the Sentinel. I deeply appreciate our Leader's love and self-sacrifice for a suffering world.—Dan Dickerson, Hamburg, Michigan.
