This testimony is an offering of gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me during a period of more than twenty years.

We read in the Bible, "The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up." This was my experience. For many years I had been seeking for something to satisfy the inward yearning. I attended churches of almost every known denomination, but I still dwelt in darkness, and the Bible remained a closed book. Finally I decided that God was unknowable and all my prayers and searching fruitless, so I gave up attending any church, and for two years tried to struggle on in this mental darkness. At this stage Christian Science came into my life as the light which shineth in darkness. The Bible became a new book to me. Christian Science gave me the true concept of God and man. This understanding changed my basis of thought from matter to Spirit. Working from this basis of perfect God and perfect man I have been able to overcome a despondent disposition and other un-Christlike qualities.

I have had many physical healings, some of which were of tonsillitis, quinsy, headaches, and a growth on the neck which developed into an ugly abscess.
