Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 372), "In Christian Science, a denial of Truth is fatal, while a just acknowledgment of Truth and of what it has done for us is an effectual help."

A recent testimony in the Sentinel, by a childhood friend in Norway, gave me so much joy that I too am prompted to express my gratitude for all the good which has come to me through Christian Science. This truth has freed me from my old blind belief in a magnified, corporeal God, who sends both good and evil; and I now realize what Jesus meant when he said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

As a member of an orthodox church for many years I worshiped and prayed with my parents. The failure to receive any convincing proof in answer to these prayers was the principal reason for my turning in other directions for joy and satisfaction. No false material pleasures were overlooked. I tried them all and can truthfully say that they all ended in regrets and discomfort, and finally developed into beliefs of a sick stomach, a disorganized business, slavery to tobacco, and a desire for liquor.
