My Daily Prayer

RUBY A. GARDNER

Help me today, dear Lord, to keep a smile,
To count my blessings every little while;
Help me express Thy love and joy and peace,
To know that through such prayer comes my release
From every kind of pain and woe and fear;
To know that I am free, since Thou art here.
Help me to be obedient today,
To follow Jesus' steps—to watch and pray
For ways in which to see and do Thy will.
Help me, Lord, to rejoice that I may fill
Each day and hour with loving work for Thee,
Work which may help my fellow men to see
Thy way, and Thine alone, can hope to give
The strength and health and joy by which men live.
