Signs of the Times

Topic: Christmas

[Rev. Frank S. Fry, in the Staten Island Advance, New York]

Just a few brief hours more, and we shall be face to face with one of the most outstanding transformations of human nature that has ever manifested itself. For one day, this old world will seem a different place. Men all about us will seem to have been transformed. There will be a new light in their faces; a new note will be heard in the human voice; a new spirit will seem to have gripped the whole world! ...

This transformation will last for one whole day, and for this one day the world will live and feel what God, in the gift of His Son to the world, meant us to have every day. What other interpretation shall one put upon that name spoken by prophecy, "The Prince of Peace," and fulfilled in the song of the angels over the plains of Bethlehem, "Peace on earth, good will to man"?
