Most
people shrink from what they imagine to be the burden of serious thinking.
Long
ago, in the quiet little town of Bethlehem, amid surroundings of the greatest simplicity, dawned the first Christmas Day.
When
we repeat the Lord's Prayer, we include the petition, "Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
A party
of children once went together to spend a morning on a gorse-covered heath.
From
the radio, the press, the pulpit, and the school, from magazines and from books, from public speeches and from private conversations, there comes to us the statement that the old order is changing, that mankind must adapt itself to a changing world, that there is no moral stability in society, that the economic structure of nations is tottering, that religious codes are discarded and outworn.
Help
me today, dear Lord, to keep a smile,To count my blessings every little while;Help me express Thy love and joy and peace,To know that through such prayer comes my releaseFrom every kind of pain and woe and fear;To know that I am free, since Thou art here.
The attitude of the press continues to be increasingly friendly, and there appears to be a growing inclination to accord Christian Science a place amongst the religions.

In the early part of 1933 my son, aged seventeen years, became ill with what the local doctor said was pernicious anemia.
The common opinion of mankind has always been that advanced age is a hindrance or a stumblingblock to physical healing.
I found Christian Science when I had been earnestly seeking the truth about God and His harmonious kingdom.
This testimony is an offering of gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me during a period of more than twenty years.
My daughters and I have received much help through Christian Science during the years since we first became interested in it.
