After I had gone through many trials in the way of different forms of illness, thereby reaching almost the limit of human endurance, Christian Science was brought to my attention by loving friends who had been in Science for several years and had received many healings.

The so-called material laws which had been laid down for me were numerous and severe. A doctor and a dentist said my first move towards relief should be to have many and possibly all of my teeth extracted; and the surgeon and specialist who had made all sorts of tests and examinations said I must have one kidney removed, after which operation I might be well for six months but possibly never. So in desperation I turned wholeheartedly to Christian Science; and through the work of a practitioner and my honest desire to accept and learn of the teachings of this Science I was healed. I was helped almost instantaneously, and the complete healing came within a short time.

The practitioner told me to read from the one hundred and twenty-first Psalm, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help;" also from Science and Health (pp. 380, 381), "Every law of matter or the body, supposed to govern man, is rendered null and void by the law of Life, God." The light of Truth and Love is streaming into my consciousness more clearly each day, and I have learned that I get out of Christian Science just what I use of it in thought and deed.
