Signs of the Times

[Rev. Edward N. Spirer, as quoted in the North Hollywood Press, California]

In the kingdom of heaven, God is the sum total of all things. Therefore, seeking first the kingdom and His righteousness all needed things are added to us. They are not acquired or obtained, mind you, but they are ours by virtue of our citizenship in the kingdom of heaven. God is the guarantee of the supply of all our needs. . . . So it is easily seen that any element of overanxiety, or fear, or distrust, is out of character with citizenship in the kingdom of heaven.

The Lord said, "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them." "Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." Here then are the essential necessities—food, clothing, and shelter.
