Christian Science was presented to me by a friend over five years ago, at a time when I did not know which way to turn. I had had two operations and was under the doctor's care, but was not getting any better. For years I was a semi-invalid. After this friend explained something of Christian Science to me, I immediately began to study it and to attend church regularly; and I also had treatment from a practitioner. Right away I began to get better and was much relieved of pain; and today I am strong, able to work out by the day at hard work. I had to wear a surgical belt with a thick pad and was told that I should always have to wear it; but, thanks to God for Christian Science, I was able to discard it.

I also had stomach trouble and always had to lie down after eating. I was healed of this by clinging to Mrs. Eddy's words in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 222), "In seeking a cure for dyspepsia consult matter not at all, and eat what is set before you, 'asking no question for conscience sake,'" and also to the truth that food has no power and the stomach cannot talk.

I wore glasses, my eyes being so bad that I could not read or sew even with the aid of glasses; but now I do both without them.
