One healing through Christian Science for which I am...
One healing through Christian Science for which I am indeed grateful is the overcoming of a severe attack of scarlet fever several years ago. The symptoms on my body were such that a Christian Science practitioner was called immediately. To comply with the laws of the city the city health officer was also called. He examined me and placed the house in quarantine. He privately informed my mother that this was a serious affair for a young man at the age of twenty-five, and that we should be very careful, as the fight against such a contagious disease would be a dangerous one. The practitioner when informed of this lovingly yet firmly declared, "As a perfect reflection of the one perfect God, you can recognize and realize the truth that you are not subject to man-made laws of disease, but subject only to the divine laws of God, the great Physician." With this held firmly in thought, the work was started faithfully and fearlessly.
Within five days thereafter I was up and dressed, walking around the room in which I was confined. During this period many serious manifestations of error tried to overcome me. They were all met and overcome solely through the application and realization of the truths taught us in Christian Science. The health officer was then summoned again to release me. However, he was unable to come until four days later, when he gave me a thorough examination and pronounced me perfectly healed and the placard was removed from the house. He expressed surprise at being summoned so quickly, apologized for his delay, and remarked that the healing was remarkably quick considering the symptoms at first apparent.
My gratitude to God and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, I can best express in daily efforts to reflect God's great truths to my fellow men.
