Item of Interest

The Christian Science Board of Directors has arranged with the Boston Emergency Relief Campaign for the contributions of employees of The Christian Science Publishing Society, of The Mother Church offices, and of other local Christian Scientists, for unemployment relief, to be received directly by the Treasurer of The Mother Church and expended through the Church's Unemployment Relief Committee, which includes the Almoner of The Mother Church. A similar plan was followed last year during the unemployment relief campaign, and credit was fully given at the Department headquarters for the amounts contributed through The Mother Church and expended by its direction.

In addition to the distribution of funds to our worthy neighbors who are in need, comforts are distributed, that is, clothing, used or new, and food orders and supplies. At two recent Wednesday evening meetings in The Mother Church this phase of the work was announced and the attendants were invited to contribute used clothing which is in good condition for the Committee's distribution. Some branch churches are following a similar procedure to help meet the unusual need of this winter.
