In gratitude for innumerable blessings and for the peace...
In gratitude for innumerable blessings and for the peace and quiet that have come into our home through adherence to Christian Science I wish to give my testimony. The study was not taken up for physical healing, but because of an earnest desire to love and understand the Bible as I saw the Christian Scientists did, and to learn how healing was accomplished through this teaching. It was not long before I found this Science to be a logical, demonstrable religion, not for physical ills only but for every problem that arises in daily life. Continued study and putting into practice what was revealed has resulted in "the peace . . . which passeth all understanding." It proved an invaluable help in rearing our children.
We have had many healings in our home. A case of hay fever of twenty-five years' duration was entirely overcome. This trouble was slow in yielding, but much was gained by having to hold firmly and steadfastly to Truth. The victory was won when pride and dread were overcome. A weeping sinew which had been an annoying blemish on my wrist for twenty years disappeared while I was earnestly trying to express a greater sense of love, patience, and compassion during a time of severe trial. I do not know when this blemish was dissolved, but looking at my wrist one day I found it normal. This healing took place over fifteen years ago, and there has been no recurrence of the trouble. Sprained ankles, warts, influenza, ptomaine poisoning, stomach trou ble, partial deafness, and bronchitis are among the discords that have yielded to the truth.
It is indeed a blessed privilege to live in this time of revelation and to be found worthy to receive and understand this healing truth. Only by loyalty to her teachings can we express our love and gratitude to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, who labored so long and faithfully to bring this healing message to mankind.
