I am deeply grateful for all that Christian Science has...
I am deeply grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me and mine. I feel so grateful to the friend who told me of this beautiful truth of the revelation of Christ Jesus. It is almost nine years since I took up the study of Christian Science. At that time I was suffering with a serious stomach trouble, also with periodical troubles said to be caused from the birth of my first child. After I had suffered from these conditions for eight years or more, this friend told me to try Christian Science. When I replied that I did not know anything about it, she said the work was done through God; and then the thought came to me that there is nothing impossible with God. She gave me the address of a Christian Science practitioner, and about a month after this I wrote to the practitioner and told her all my troubles, as I was discouraged and downhearted and almost in "the shadow of death." In less than a week I felt like a different person. I was not healed immediately but much improved; and in less than three months I was healed, uplifted, and free.
I shall never forget what this practitioner said in her letter to me: "My dear, you will rejoice over the day you started on your way to your heavenly Father. Now, you may not know that you cannot take medicine while under Christian Science treatment; but you will not need it, for God does all without the aid of drugs." From that day I have never tasted medicine or applied it in any way; and it has been as she said, I have never needed it. All we need is the truth to apply to any problem.
Since that time troubles such as tonsillitis, influenza, and constipation have been overcome through the application of Christian Science. For these healings I am indeed grateful, but I am more grateful for Mrs. Eddy's untiring search in the Bible and her love for mankind; to all the Christian Science practitioners and faithful workers in this truth; and for membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. My daily prayer is that I may prove my love for God each day, to help others as I have been helped.
