Signs of the Times

[Rev. H. S. Kistler, as quoted in the Herald-Star, Steubenville, Ohio]

We do not have spiritual power because we do not want it. We want religion but not righteousness, mysticism not morality, ecstasy not ethics.... Jesus could not do mighty works because of unbelief. If we lay the will, mind, and purpose of the church parallel to the will of God, power will flow through the church for the healing of the world.

The world cannot be compelled, driven, legislated, or organized, but will be attracted by a glorious church. If the church is not commercialized the city is not corrupt. When the nation is corrupt the churches have been asleep. Let us present the world a fellowship through which the glory of God may shine.
