In gratitude for the testimonials in our periodicals, I wish to share with others the blessings which I have received from the study of Christian Science. I received a healing of the need of wearing glasses for astigmatism, the first night after I began to read Science and Health. I read far into the night and the next morning found that I had not worn my glasses. From that time, over nineteen years ago, I have not worn them. My next healing was of a broken collar bone. On this occasion I had the help of a practitioner.
These healings both came before I felt that I understood in the least the nature of Christian Science healing. At the time I was not in reach of a Christian Science church and scarcely realized that it was religion, although I was studying the Lesson-Sermon faithfully each day, and frequently carried my books with me on long horseback excursions covering many days. As a result of this study I was freed from chronic tonsillitis, a catarrhal condition of the head and nasal condition of long standing, and a tendency to headaches. These just fell away, and after a time I realized that they no longer afflicted me.
Influenza, brought on by fear, was quickly healed. This took place with the help of a practitioner, through whose ministrations I was healed also of a deep sense of separation during the world war. A painful sprained ankle and bronchitis, which occurred each winter, have been overcome. A finger caught in an electric wringer was healed instantly with not a sign of bruise.
