May I add my pæan of praise to God, the Giver of all...
May I add my pæan of praise to God, the Giver of all good, for the help received in Christian Science. This Science came to me when, as a young girl, timid, self-conscious, and easily confused, I was struggling to be a success in the business world. Through the loving help of a practitioner and the study of the Christian Science textbook, together with the daily study of the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly, I gained a higher, clearer concept of God. I found much comfort in learning that one of the definitions of God is "intelligence" (Science and Health, p. 587), for I could apply this to my business problems. As I grew in this understanding of Him I gradually was enabled "here a little, and there a little," to gain poise and take up each new piece of work confidently and joyously. Through the application of divine Principle I won the respect of my employer, who saw the improvement in me. He in turn gave me opportunities to do more important work.
I have been healed of a severe case of nervous prostration, colds, headaches, and sorrow. Harmony has been restored in our home. I am increasingly grateful for class instruction and to the teacher, who has devoted her life to Christian Science work; its value cannot be expressed in words. The Christian Science Monitor and the other periodicals are a source of great joy to me; and I am happy to have served in the various activities which membership in the Christian Science church affords. As I grow in wisdom and gain a better understanding, may I use this knowledge to increase the good that Christian Science is doing throughout the world.
