The words of wisdom Jesus spoke two thousand years ago have rung down the centuries to reach us, and are none the less true now as then: "Unless ye become as little children ye cannot enter the kingdom of heaven."

What is it to become as a little child? It is to drop all remembrances of yesterday's trials and burdens. It is to get the very most out of each present moment, with no fear of tomorrow. It is to have a fresh, vivid sense of wonder for all things near and far, with a wish to play an active part in the world as God's own child. To thus unload ourselves of yesterday's burdens and tomorrow's fears is to be able to travel through life so light of foot that we can "scale the very heights of heaven."—Dorothy Oakley Hagedorn.
